The boys are back after several weeks with another edition of the Jersey Joe Corner Podcast. Jersey Joe Stanislau<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jim Biringer from lastwordonhockey.com<\/a> breakdown the trades that saw New Jersey Devils<\/a> move Andy Greene<\/a><\/strong> and Blake Coleman<\/a><\/strong> on Sunday. In addition, the boys look at the prospects in the Devils system along with where the team goes from here. Finally, they look at the happenings around the league.<\/p>\n

Jersey Joe and Jersey Jim open show talking about how it is never a dull moment when it comes to the New Jersey Devils especially on a Sunday. Jim explains the trade that saw Devils captain Andy Greene traded<\/a> to the New York Islanders<\/a> in exchange for a 2021 second-round pick and David Quenneville<\/strong> early on Sunday afternoon. Joe says while it is tough to see Greene go, the Devils defence will be more mobile. Jim compares Greene to Ron Hainsey<\/a> and how his addition will help the young players on the Islanders.<\/p>\n

Blake Coleman Sent To Tampa Bay<\/h3>\n

Next, the boys go into the details that saw Blake Coleman traded<\/a> to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Nolan Foote<\/strong> and Vancouver’s first-round pick. Jim explains the whole situation surrounding Coleman how he was traded then he wasn’t then he was.\u00a0 It was a crazy event that happened mid-game against the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a>. While fans are upset at the trade, they note that Coleman’s trade value was never going to be any higher than now.<\/p>\n

Diving Into The Prospect Pool<\/h3>\n

Jersey Joe shifts the show in a different direction. He looks into the prospect pool of the team from the junior ranks all the way through Binghamton of the AHL. Jim mentions how players like Nick Merkley<\/strong>, Joey Anderson<\/a><\/strong>, and others are making an impact because of their development in the AHL. He also notes that Jesper Boqvist<\/a><\/strong> is flourishing down in the AHL and will be better off having that developmental year.<\/p>\n

What’s Next<\/h3>\n

Jersey Joe and Jersey Jim then look at what players could be traded next. They reference general manager Tom Fitzgerald’s<\/strong> press conference after Sunday’s game. They mention how Travis Zajac<\/a><\/strong> will not be going anywhere as the team wants to build around Nico Hischier<\/a>, Jack Hughes<\/a>,<\/strong> and MacKenzie Blackwood<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> Jim references the New Jersey Devils Trade Deadline Strategy<\/a> and how Sami Vatanen<\/a>, Kyle Palmieri<\/a>,<\/strong> and Wayne Simmonds<\/a><\/strong> could be the next ones traded.<\/p>\n

They discuss whether or not Kane has a point about the inconsistencies in regards to the suspensions that are handed out.
