The Dallas Stars<\/a> announced that forward Alexander Radulov<\/a><\/strong> has been placed on injured reserve. The team did not specify the nature of the injury, but it is believed that Radulov aggravated an upper-body injury he sustained last week<\/a>. Forward Jason Robertson<\/strong> was recalled from the AHL.<\/p>\n

Alexander Radulov Injured<\/h2>\n

Radulov collided with a teammate in the second period in last week’s game against the Minnesota Wild<\/a>. He did not return to the game did not play against the St. Louis Blues<\/a> before returning to the lineup on Tuesday, where he likely re-aggravated his injury.<\/p>\n

So far this season, Radulov has scored 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points to go along with 40 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 53.6 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 5.7.<\/p>\n

Over his seven-year NHL career, Radulov has played for the Nashville Predators<\/a>, Montreal Canadiens<\/a> and Stars. He has 136 goals and 195 assists for 331 career points in 434 career games. He was originally drafted by the Nashville Predators in the first round, 15th overall in the 2004 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n

What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n

With Radulov out of the lineup, Dallas called up Robertson who will likely make his NHL debut tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>. Robertson has 20 goals and 15 assists for 35 points in 49 games this season for the AHL Texas Stars. He leads the team in points and has been playing at a point-per-game pace over his last 11 games.<\/p>\n

Forward Joe Pavelski<\/a><\/strong> is still day-to-day with an injury of his own so Robertson will have to step up in his debut. Radulov was placed on the injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 11 meaning he will miss at least the next three games. The Stars face a tough stretch without Pavelski and Radulov for the next few games that will test their depth. However, Radulov had gone without a goal in five straight games, so this time off may allow him to fully heal and return to form when he comes back.<\/p>\n
