Stone laid on the ice for a few minutes after the hit as he gained medical attention. He left the game, and has suffered an <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/2017\/02\/20\/mark-stone-mike-hoffman-join-bobby-ryan-ottawa-senators-injury-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">injury<\/a> as a result of the hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a clear hit to the head with the shoulder,\u201d Senators coach <strong>Guy Boucher<\/strong> told reporters. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the best players in the league, so, I mean, I think everybody saw the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The suspension mirrors a similar play during the Jets game in Pittsburgh on Thursday where\u00a0the Jets were on the receiving end. Penguins forward\u00a0<strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/malkiev01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evgeni Malkin<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> left his feet to hit\u00a0Jets captain <strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/wheelbl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blake Wheeler<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> in the head. Malkin did not receive any punishment for the hit, among much controversy.<\/p>\n<p>In 47 games played this season, Trouba has put up five goals and 19 assists for 24 points. He sits seventh in points on the team, second amongst defenceman. Trouba also ranks fifth on the team in average time on ice, averaging about 24:45 per game.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets will play the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
