The Ottawa Senators are facing more than a battle for a wildcard spot now. After\u00a0a tough loss to the Winnipeg Jets, the Senators announced that Mike Hoffman<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and Mark Stone<\/a><\/strong> both suffered injuries and will be re-evaluated. This comes just a day after Bobby Ryan<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>injured his finger blocking a shot.\u00a0Fellow forward Tommy Wingels<\/a><\/strong> is also out.<\/p>\n

Mark Stone and Mike Hoffman join Bobby Ryan on Ottawa Senators Injury List<\/h3>\n

Hoffman suffered a lower-body injury, and didn’t even register six minutes of ice time before he left the game. He’s been a very productive top six forward for the team so far this year, registering 39 points in 52 games. He also has 19 goals, tying him with center Kyle Turris<\/a><\/strong>, for most\u00a0goals on the team.<\/p>\n

Stone left the game after just about 16 minutes of playing time. He was hit in the head by Jets defenceman Jacob Trouba<\/a><\/strong>. Trouba is scheduled to have a phone hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety tomorrow as a result of the hit.<\/p>\n

Stone has been on the top line most of the season. Arguably the best forward in the Senators organization, he currently has 47 points in 56 games. This includes a goal in the game against the Jets. He’s second on the team in points, trailing only Erik Karlsson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bobby Ryan was injured Saturday, hurting his finger while blocking a shot against the Toronto Maple Leafs. \u00a0If the finger is broken, he could be out for three to six weeks.<\/p>\n

Recall and Replacements<\/h3>\n

The team has recalled Max McCormick<\/a><\/strong> and Casey Bailey<\/a><\/strong> from the Binghamton Senators. They rank third and fourth on the team in points, respectively. McCormick has 26, and Bailey has 25 in 45 games.\u00a0In their NHL experience, Bailey has one point in 11 games and McCormick has four points in 25 games.<\/p>\n

The Senators currently hold a playoff spot, and are in second place in the Atlantic Division, closing in on the struggling Montreal Canadiens. With the end of the season nearing, Ottawa needs all the help they can get,\u00a0as they also have to worry about the Leafs, Boston Bruins, and Florida Panthers behind them in the standings.<\/p>\n
