The featured game for this article is the matchup between the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/red-wings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/avalanche\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colorado Avalanche<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>NHL Predictions<\/h2>\n<h3>Detroit Red Wings vs Colorado Avalanche<\/h3>\n<h3>Head-to-Head: Red Wings 0-0 Avalanche<\/h3>\n<p>Detroit comes into the matchup against their old rivals as the worst team in the NHL. The Red Wings were beaten, 4-1, by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/panthers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida Panthers<\/a> on Saturday. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/larkidy01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dylan Larkin<\/a> <\/strong>scored his 100th career goal while <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/howarja02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jimmy Howard<\/a> <\/strong>made 34 saves as he fell to 2-17-2 on the season. It was the fourth straight loss for Detroit.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bertuty01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Bertuzzi<\/a><\/strong> leads the team in goals (16) and points (34) while <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bernijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jonathan Bernier<\/strong><\/a> has taken the top spot in goal with a 10-12-2 record, 2.99 goals-against-average and .904 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Wings struggle to put pucks in the net as they average 2.10 goals per game and give up 3.84 per game. Detroit&#8217;s power play converts 14.6 percent of chances and they kill off 73.0 percent of opposing power plays.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado has won two straight games, including a 5-3 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blues\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> on Saturday night. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/burakan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andre Burakovsky<\/a> <\/strong>had a goal and an assist while <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/grubaph01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philipp Grubauer<\/a> <\/strong>made 21 saves. The Avalanche are 2-0-2 as they head into the final game of their homestand.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mackina01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nathan MacKinnon<\/a> <\/strong>leads the team in goals (28), assists (42) and points (70) while Grubauer is 14-10-4 in net. He also has a 2.82 goals-against-average and .910 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>The Avs score 3.60 goals per game and give up 2.90 per game. Colorado scores on 18.6 percent of power plays and are 78.8 percent successful on the penalty kill.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado has eyes on the Stanley Cup while Detroit has eyes on a top-four draft pick. Look for the Avalanche to end their homestand strong.<\/p>\n<p>Prediction: Avalanche win 4-1.<\/p>\n<h3>Florida Panthers vs Minnesota Wild<\/h3>\n<h3>Head-to-Head: Panthers 0-1 Wild<\/h3>\n<p>Florida is on a roll and have won four straight games after Saturday&#8217;s win vs. Detroit. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/huberjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Huberdeau<\/a><\/strong>, who leads the team in assists (46) and points (64), dished out two assists and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bobrose01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sergei Bobrovsky<\/a><\/strong> returned to make 27 saves. Minnesota did win 4-2 over Florida in Sunrise, Fla. on Dec. 13.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/dadonev01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evgenii Dadonov<\/a><\/strong> is the team&#8217;s leading goal-scorer with 21 while Bobrovsky has picked up his play with a 17-12-4 record, 3.22 goals-against-average and .898 save percentage. Those numbers are hurt by the bad start he had at the beginning of the season.<\/p>\n<p>The Panthers score 3.64 goals per game and yield 3.26 per game. Florida&#8217;s power play is 24.0 percent successful and their PK is 79.0 percent efficient.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/wild\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Minnesota Wild<\/a> are coming off a big 7-0 victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/stars\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dallas Stars<\/a> on Saturday night. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/z\/zuckeja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jason Zucker<\/strong><\/a> had a goal and two assists while <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/staloal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Stalock<\/a> <\/strong>got the shutout with 27 saves.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/parisza01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zach Parise<\/a><\/strong> leads the team in goals with 18 and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/staaler01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Staal<\/a> <\/strong>is tops in points with 35. Stalock has seemingly taken over in goal with an 11-7-3 record, 2.83 goals-against-average and .907 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota scores 3.06 goals per game and allow 3.27 per game.
