With Crosby absent from the lineup, Malkin averaged 1.46 points per game. For reference, his career average is 1.18 points per game. The Anaheim Ducks are miles away from even sniffing postseason play. They are sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference and have a lot of work to do to get back into contention. Ryan Getzlaf needs to do something to spark this team. It took them quite some time, but the Tampa Bay Lightning have finally found their groove. What appeared to be a very disappointing season has turned itself around. Winning 11 of their last 12 games have jettisoned them from the middle of the pack team to second place in the Atlantic Division. If they continue this pace they will be the top seed in the East, without a doubt.

Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine have certainly earned the contracts the Winnipeg Jets gave them this offseason. With 47 and 43 points respectively, they are two of the top three scorers for Winnipeg. Their production has been key to getting Winnipeg right on the line of the playoffs as they hold the second wild card in the Western Conference.
