The Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> announced that goaltender Robin Lehner<\/a><\/strong> is considered day-to-day with a knee injury.<\/p>\n

Robin Lehner Out with Knee Injury<\/h2>\n

In a high scoring 7-5 game, between the Vancouver Canucks<\/a> and Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday, Robin Lehner sustained a knee injury. In the latter half of the third period, Tanner Pearson<\/a> <\/strong>was seen crashing the net hard. It ended in a collision with Lehner, causing him to twist awkwardly at the top of the crease. Shortly thereafter, he left the game and did not return.<\/p>\n

So far this season, Lehner has played 25 games. Recording 12 wins, seven losses, and four ties. As the Blackhawks starter, Lehner has a .922 save percentage and a 2.92 goals-against-average.<\/p>\n

Over his 10-year NHL career, Lehner has seen his fair share of locker rooms. Playing for the Ottawa Senators<\/a>, Buffalo Sabres<\/a>, New York Islanders<\/a>, and now Chicago Blackhawks. Robin Lehner has recorded 290 games played, with 109 of those wins, 117 losses and 44 ties. Before that, he was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the second round, 46th overall in the 2009 NHL draft.<\/p>\n

What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n

Earlier today, Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton\u00a0<\/strong>mentioned that the team is still evaluating the severity of the injury<\/a>. Since the decade has ended, so seems the same for the Chicago Blackhawks dynasty. Ever since the team swept by the Nashville Predators<\/a> in the 2017 playoffs, the Blackhawks are not the same. The past two seasons the ‘Hawks have finished around .500 on the year. This year nothing has changed.<\/p>\n

With the loss of Lehner, the Blackhawks will turn to their grizzled veteran Corey Crawford<\/a><\/strong>, who currently holds a .905 save percentage and led all those great teams to Stanley Cup wins. The team also announced that centre Zack Smith<\/a><\/strong> missed practice due to what is being called “family issues.”<\/p>\n
