Team Canada<\/a> has named their final 23-man roster for the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championship. The tournament begins on December 26th in the Czech Republic, when Canada takes on their arch-rivals from the United States. The team is coached by London Knights head coach Dale Hunter<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2020 Team Canada World Junior Roster<\/h2>\n

Upfront, the team is expected to be led by 2020 NHL Draft<\/a> prospect Alexis Lafreniere<\/strong>, Arizona Coyotes<\/a> prospect Barrett Hayton<\/a><\/strong>, and Detroit Red Wings<\/a> prospect\u00a0Joe Veleno<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The defence is led by Colorado Avalanche<\/a> prospect Bowen Byram<\/strong><\/a>, and New Jersey Devils<\/a> prospect Ty Smith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The goaltending battle rages on, with St. Louis Blues<\/a> prospect Joel Hofer<\/strong> and undrafted Guelph Storm goalie Nico Daws<\/strong> continuing to fight for the number one job.<\/p>\n

Other 2020 NHL Draft eligible players on the team include centre Quinton Byfield<\/strong>, winger Dawson Mercer<\/strong>, and defenceman\u00a0Jamie Drysdale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Benoit-Olivier Groulx<\/strong>, a forward with the QMJHL\u2019s Halifax Mooseheads and Anaheim Ducks<\/a> prospect, was the final cut.<\/p>\n
