Philadelphia seemingly fell apart after that as Winnipeg won the game, 7-3. Perreault did pick up a concussion on the play and his status is unknown at this time.

So far this season, he scored three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 27 games in his rookie season. He also added 35 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers are 48.8 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of -3.3.

He played the 2018-19 season with the Boston University Terriers of Hockey East in the NCAA. The Syracuse, New York native logged 17 goals and 19 assists for 36 points in 37 games. Philadelphia drafted him in the first round, 14th overall of the 2018 NHL Draft.

What This Means for the Future

Opinion is divided on whether three games is too harsh of a penalty for that hit. The shot was late and Farabee made contact to the vulnerable Jets’ forward. DPOS explained that the considerable lateness and force was worthy of the suspension.

However, it was a first offence for the young player, but one can see why Player Safety may hand out these types of penalties to deter these type of hard hits.

The suspension serves as another blow to the Flyers’ lineup that are hurting without the loss of several key forwards. Kevin Hayes, Oskar Lindblom, Nolan Patrick and Travis Konecny were all listed as injured in recent reports.
