The Boston Bruins hope they don\u2019t have to live life without Patrice Bergeron<\/a><\/strong>. He is listed as day-to-day with a lower body injury.\u00a0Bergeron didn\u2019t practice Friday after suffering a lower body injury in Wednesday\u2019s 5-3 loss to the Washington Capitals. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bergeron went down after blocking a Matt Niskanen<\/a><\/strong> shot off his inner leg, close to his knee.\u00a0After struggling to get off the ice, he returned for two shifts, then left the game for good. <\/span>Patrice Bergeron is fifth on the Bruins in points with 26 on the season, 12 goals and 14 assists. <\/span><\/p>\n

Head coach Claude Julien<\/a> hasn\u2019t ruled him out of Saturday\u2019s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. <\/span>Goaltender Tuukka Rask<\/a><\/strong> didn\u2019t practice on Friday either. He said he popped his groin on Wednesday. Bruins general manager Don Sweeney<\/a> said that Rask was just taking a \u201cmaintenance day.\u201d Rask will make his 12th straight start on Saturday if he plays. <\/span><\/p>\n

It looks like the Bruins avoided disastrous injuries to two key players. <\/span>Boston is currently third in the Atlantic Division with 58 points, just three ahead of the Leafs. <\/span>The Bruins have a four day break after their game against the Leafs on Saturday, they then play three games in four nights. <\/span><\/p>\n
