The featured game today is the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/ducks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Anaheim Ducks<\/a> vs <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/capitals\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Capitals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>NHL Predictions<\/h2>\n<h3>Anaheim Ducks vs Washington Capitals<\/h3>\n<h3>Head-to-Head: Ducks 0-0 Capitals<\/h3>\n<h4>Ducks<\/h4>\n<p>Anaheim is coming off of a 4-1 win over the Stanley Cup champion <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blues\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> on Saturday. That win ended a five-game losing streak. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/grantde01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derek Grant<\/a> <\/strong>posted a hat trick and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=gibsojo02,gibsojo01&amp;search=John+Gibson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Gibson<\/a> <\/strong>made 37 saves for the Ducks. Anaheim is 23rd in goals scored with just over 2.7 a game. However, they&#8217;re 11th in goals allowed with 2.76 per contest.<\/p>\n<p>The Ducks struggle on the power play with a 9.1 conversion rate, which is 30th in the league. Anaheim&#8217;s penalty kill is 80.3 and good enough for 18th in the league. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/silfvja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jakob Silfverberg<\/a> <\/strong>leads the team in goals with nine and points with 17. Gibson has seen the lion&#8217;s share of time in net with a 7-9 record, 2.83 goals-against average and .915 save percentage.<\/p>\n<h4>Capitals<\/h4>\n<p>Washington edged the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/bruins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Boston Bruins<\/a>, 3-2, in a shootout on Saturday night. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/boydtr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Travis Boyd<\/strong><\/a> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/o\/oshietj01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">T.J. Oshie<\/a> <\/strong>scored goals while<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/v\/vranaja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jakub Vrana<\/a><\/strong> scored the shootout winner. The Capitals lead the league in goals with 81 and average over 3.7 a game. Washington is 19th in goals allowed with 2.97 a game.<\/p>\n<p>The Caps&#8217; power play is ninth overall with 23.3 percent and sixth in the penalty kill with an 85.7 success rate.<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/carlsjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Carlson<\/a> <\/strong>is having a Norris Trophy quality season with eight goals and 24 assists for 32 points. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/holtbbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Braden Holtby<\/strong><\/a> is 15-10-1 with a 2.97 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>Washington would love to make this game a track meet and a fast-paced game would favour them.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Capitals win 4-2<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Los Angeles Kings vs Arizona Coyotes<\/h3>\n<h3>Head-to-Head: Kings 0-0 Coyotes<\/h3>\n<h4>Kings<\/h4>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/kings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Kings<\/a> have been on a roll with three straight wins as they beat the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/knights\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vegas Golden Knights<\/a>, 4-3, on Saturday night. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/carteje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeff Carter<\/a> <\/strong>got the game-winner in his 1,000th career NHL game. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kopitan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anze Kopitar <\/a><\/strong>leads in all offensive categories like goals (7), assists (15) and points (22). Goalies<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/campbja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jack Campbell<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/q\/quickjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Quick<\/a> <\/strong>have a goals-against-average of at least 3.11.<\/p>\n<p>L.A.&#8217;s power play is near the bottom at 29th with an 11.4 percent success rate and is 27th in penalty killing at 73.5 percent. The Kings are 25th in goals scored with 2.65 per game and 29th in goals allowed with 3.60 a game.<\/p>\n<h4>Coyotes<\/h4>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/coyotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arizona Coyotes<\/a> are coming off a 3-0 shutout of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flames\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Calgary Flames<\/a> on Saturday. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kuempda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Darcy Kuemper<\/a><\/strong> made 35 saves and got into it<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/t\/tkachma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matthew Tkachuk<\/a><\/strong> during the game. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/stepade01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Derek Stepan<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/soderca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carl Soderberg<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/crousla01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lawson Crouse<\/a><\/strong> generated goals for Arizona, which has won three of its last four.<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/schmani01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nick Schmaltz<\/a><\/strong> leads in points with 16, including 12 assists. Connor Garland leads in goals with nine and Kuemper has been having an outstanding season in net with 1.85 GAA and .937 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>The Coyotes are 21st in goals scored with 2.76 a game but are tied for first in goals allowed with 2.33. Arizona is 23rd in power-play efficiency with a 15.2 percent success rate and 16th on the penalty kill with an 81 percent kill ration.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles has won three in a row but lost the last six away from the Staples Center. Arizona is 6-3 in their last nine against Western Conference teams.
