There were quite a few minor trades in the NHL today. Let’s break it down.<\/p>\n
The Edmonton Oilers<\/a> have acquired centre\u00a0Henrik Samuelsson<\/strong> from the Arizona Coyotes<\/a> in exchange for winger\u00a0Mitch Moroz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Samuelsson has two\u00a0goals and one\u00a0assist in 20 games with the AHL’s Tuscon Roadrunners <\/a>this season.\u00a0Samuelsson\u00a0is the son of former NHLer Ulf Samuelsson<\/strong>. He was selected 27th overall by the Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n The 22-year-old spent three junior seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings<\/a> of the WHL, where he won the Memorial Cup in 2014. He\u00a0scored 95 regular season points and 23 post-season points for the Oil Kings that season. Samuelsson has scored 55 points (23 goals, 32 assists) in 131 career AHL\u00a0games.<\/p>\n The Oilers chose Mitch Moroz in the second-round of the 2012 draft. He has three points in 17 games with the Bakersfield Condors<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n Admist the Dallas Stars<\/a> goaltending struggles this season, they have acquired veteran goaltender Justin Peters<\/strong> from the Arizona Coyotes.<\/p>\n Kari Lehtonen<\/strong>, who has 29 starts, and Antti Niemi<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0who has 22, have been sharing the starting job\u00a0for the second straight season.<\/p>\n Peters has played 12 games with the Tuscon Roadrunners and three with the Arizona Coyotes this season. He posts a .868 save percentage in the AHL and a .900 in the NHL.<\/p>\n Peters has spent most of the season with Tucson, but the 30-year-old has 83 career NHL appearances with Carolina, Washington and Arizona in the NHL.<\/p>\n Also, the Stars added minor league defenseman Justin Hache<\/strong> in the deal. Hache has played 21 games with the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush<\/a>, recording two goals and seven assists.<\/p>\n Arizona acquired young forwards Brendan Ranford<\/strong> and Branden Troock<\/strong>. Ranford has six goals and 11 assists this season with the Texas Stars<\/a>. While Trook has seven goals and two assists in 15 games with the Idaho Steelheads<\/a> of the ECHL.<\/p>\n The Ottawa Senators<\/a> acquired Marc Hagel<\/strong> from the Minnesota Wild<\/a> for future considerations.<\/p>\n Hagel will be assigned to the Binghamton Senators<\/a>. He is expected to be in the lineup for Friday’s game against the Hershey Bears<\/a>.
