The Boston Bruins<\/a> have announced that defenceman Torey Krug<\/a><\/strong> is out with an injury. Krug suffered an upper-body injury in a game on Sunday night at TD Garden against the Philadelphia Flyers<\/a>. The 28-year-old blueliner didn’t take part in the overtime, as he left the contest before that. The Bruins will miss Krug at least for their next game versus the Florida Panthers<\/a>, however, they will asses his injury moving forward. It may not mean he is out long-term.<\/p>\n

Torey Krug Out For Boston Bruins<\/h2>\n

Torey Krug is an important part of the Bruins roster. During the past week, Krug collected the 300th point of his NHL career. He currently has 301 points in his 479 games in the regular season with the Bruins. Krug went undrafted in the NHL Entry Draft. Instead, he signed with Boston in March of 2012 as a free agent coming off two seasons as the captain of Michigan State University.<\/p>\n

The Michigan native has taken part in 17 contests with the Bruins this season. In those 17 starts, the 28-year-old left-shot defenceman gathered two goals and 11 assists for 13 points.<\/p>\n

What Does This Mean For Boston<\/h3>\n

The Bruins have already adjusted to the Torey Krug’s injury. The Bruins have recalled Urho Vaakanainen<\/a><\/strong>,<\/strong> their former first-round draft pick, from the Providence Bruins in the AHL. Vaakanainen practiced with Connor Clifton<\/a><\/strong> in Monday’s practice. Krug’s usual defensive partner Brandon Carlo<\/a><\/strong> skated with Matt Grzelcyk<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Boston has seen defencemen John Moore<\/a><\/strong> and Kevan Miller<\/a><\/strong> practicing, as well. The left-shot blueliner Moore is still in the red, non-contact jersey. The Bruins will have to play without injured Jake DeBrusk<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> as well. On a three-game losing skid, the Bruins face the Panthers on Tuesday at TD Garden.<\/p>\n
