It is unclear how the injury occurred, it appears Tarasenko got injured after Kings defenceman Sean Walker knocked him off the puck on a breakaway attempt. Tarasenko tried to muscle Walker off the puck as they come together. After contact was made he skated straight to the bench and did not return.

From the looks of it, Tarasenko was grabbing at his left shoulder. Tarasenko has a history of shoulder problems. Recall that he dislocated his left shoulder in Game 2 of 2019 Stanley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins. Not to mention Tarasenko had surgery to repair a dislocation on that same shoulder following the 2017-18 season. Tarasenko was on a five-game point streak and through 10 games he has three goals and seven assists.

Moving Forward

After Tarasenko left the game, David Perron bumped up to the first line playing alongside Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz. With the way that combination looked against the Kings, the Blues will want to use them going forward.
