His possession numbers were 48.8 percent Corsi For and a relative Corsi of 1.5.

Over his 3-year NHL career, Blais has played solely for the St. Louis Blues. He has 6 goals ad 6 assists for 12 career points in 52 career games. He was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 6th round, 176th overall in the 2014 NHL draft. Blais is a depth guy for St. Louis, however, he is only 23 and looks to increase his role as time goes on.

What This Means For The Future

With Blais out of the lineup, Zach Sanford will take his place alongside Tyler Bozak and Robert Thomas on the third line. He got under the opponent’s skin and chipped in a point from time to time. With a role on the third line means more minutes and Sanford will have to take his chance and run with it if he hopes to stay out of Berube’s doghouse.

The Blues play the Los Angeles Kings tonight and then hit the road for two games against the Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins. The Blues have struggled as of late and hope Sanford can bring some much-needed energy back into their lineup.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

The St. Louis Blues announced that left winger Sammy Blais is day-to-day with a hand injury.
