General manager <strong>David <\/strong><\/span><strong>Poile<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> was able to sign the Swiss <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">defenceman<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> early in his career\u00a0for $4 million and seven years starting with the 2013-14 season.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Josi has been the quiet leader on the club and one of the best blue-liners that no one talks about. He was one of the first defenders in team history that could provide goals for the back end. The 29-year-old nearly has 100 goals on <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">defence<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> for the Predators.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">He was the first Nashville <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">defenceman<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to really start counterattacks with his great skating ability. He may not get the publicity of an <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/karlser01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Erik Karlsson<\/a> <\/strong>or a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/doughdr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drew Doughty<\/a>,<\/strong> but he\u2019s a key part of the Predators defence.
