The Lightning get a conditional 2020 first round pick, a third-round pick in 2019, and goaltender Marek Mazanec. The Lightning acquires a conditional 2020 first, a 2019 third, and Marek Mazanec in exchange for JT Miller.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Players<\/h2>\n<p>In JT Miller, the Canucks get a fast, skilled forward. This season, he scored 13 goals and 34 assists for 47 points, adding 30 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers are 53.8 percent Corsi\u00a0and a relative Corsi of 2.9. Those totals are slightly worse compared to last season, where he scored 23 goals, 35 assists for 58 points. While he stepped back in the goals category this season, he maintained similar points per game to last season while averaging three fewer minutes a night. Over his 7-year NHL career\u00a0Miller has played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Rangers<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the Tampa Bay Lightning. In that time, he has\u00a095\u00a0goals and 142\u00a0assists for\u00a0237\u00a0career points in 435\u00a0career games. He was originally drafted in the 1st round, 15th\u00a0overall of the\u00a02011\u00a0NHL draft by the Rangers.<\/p>\n<h2>What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n<p>The Canucks get a skilled forward that can play with\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/petteel01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elias Pettersson<\/a><\/strong> while he is still cheap on his ELC. Miller is locked up for 4 more seasons to a 5.25 AAV. The Lightning get cap relief to help them try to sign\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pointbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brayden Point<\/a><\/strong> to a contract extension, who just finished up his ELC.<\/p>\n<p>While Miller didn&#8217;t produce as he did in the 2017-18 season, he still had a productive year while being utilized less.
