Bourque signs this deal as he was still in restricted free agent status. This seems like solid length of term for the young Bourque.

As the Mavrik Bourque contract is signed, let’s recap some career highlights to this point. Moreover, Bourque was a first-round pick back in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. After that, he put in work to get himself ready for the NHL game. This included two full seasons in the AHL. The second of those years, 2023-24, he had a pretty big year with 26 goals, 51 assists, and 77 points in 71 games. Then, the next two seasons have been in the NHL, his first two full NHL campaigns.

What Are the Preds Getting With Bourque

In 2024-25, he had 11 goals, 14 assists, and 25 points in 73 games. In addition, his 2025-26 season saw him take major strides towards fulfilling the potential of a former first-round selection.

In 82 games, he had 20 goals, 21 assists, for a total of 41 points. That’s pretty decent production for a young player with only 15:29 of average ice time. At even strength, he had a solid Corsi-for percent of 51.6. He had excellent opportunity, playing a lot with star Jason Robertson. Therefore, he did a great job of being able to play up and down in the lineup. This is something that Nashville will find extremely useful, as they try to find a fit for Bourque within their top-six forward group.

With guys like Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and even like Ross Colton, Nashville is trying have a competitive top-nine forward group. Bourque will just give them an extra weapon to add to their arsenal.

Main Photo Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images

The Nashville Predators have some news to break on this Saturday evening in the summer.
