The Swedish blueliner signed a two-year deal worth $3.1 million for the life of the contract. This deal carries a $1.55 million salary cap hit and runs through the end of the 207-28 seasons. The 24-year-old had two goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 61 games last campaign. He recorded 15 minutes, 20 seconds of ice time of the regular season. However, he saw that cut down to 11:05 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, where Philadelphia was eliminated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2026\/06\/27\/john-carlson-rights\/\" target=\"_self\">Carolina Hurricanes<\/a>. The Vastervik, Sweden native had a Corsi for of 50.3 and a relative Corsi of 2.5.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Andrae has three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 107 career games. Philadelphia originally took him in the second round, 54th overall of the 2020 NHL Draft. He was part of the recent deal that saw that saw him, Samuel Ersson, and a draft pick shipped to Toronto. The Flyers received goalie Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit on the June 16 deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Andrae has also represented his native Sweden at the international level. Toronto&#8217;s defence was a major question mark heading into the season, and it seems like Chayka is trying to remake the defensive group.<\/p>\n<p><span>Andrae played plenty of sheltered minutes with the Flyers. However, this does seem like a decent low-risk deal for Toronto.
