Head coach Andr\u00e9 Tourigny and assistant Blaine Forsythe agreed to new multi-year contracts. The Mammoth also added former Vancouver Canucks head coach Adam Foote to the staff as an assistant, replacing Mario Duhamel. Blaine&#8217;s an experienced, knowledgeable, and Stanley Cup-winning coach who has a strong body of work running the power play<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Mammoth public relations, the news of extending Andre Tourigny, the Utah Mammoth head coach, marks the occasion as he is one of just three coaches in NHL history to improve the team&#8217;s point total in each of his first five seasons as head coach. However, 2025-2026 was by far his best. The Mammoth finished with a 43-33-6 record and 92 points, which resulted in their first-ever Stanley Cup Playoff appearance. They were defeated in six games by the Vegas Golden Knights during the first round. It was just their second season in Utah.<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong had this to say about the Foote hiring:<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201c<em>We are also thrilled to have Adam, a two-time Stanley Cup champion and 2002 Olympic gold medalist right here in Salt Lake, join the organization and bring a fresh perspective to our room backed by years of experience as both a player and coach<\/em>,\u201d Armstrong said. \u201d<em>This is another exciting day for the organization.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a former defenceman, Foote will likely be in charge of Utah\u2019s blue line.<\/p>\n<h3>Up Next<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2026\/06\/14\/5-2026-nhl-draft-prospects\/\" target=\"_self\">2026 NHL Entry Draft<\/a> is this Friday.
