It\u2019s Monday and it\u2019s time for another helping of our NHL <\/span>Rumours<\/span>. We\u2019re edging closer to the NHL Draft and the start of free agency on July 1. Teams are trying to make that move that will develop them into a contender or kickstart a rebuild. Today we look at the feeding frenzy surrounding Winnipeg Jets <\/span>defenceman <\/span>Jacob Trouba<\/a><\/strong>,<\/strong> and <\/span>rumours<\/span> surrounding the Detroit Red Wings<\/a>, New York Rangers<\/a> and Florida Panthers<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NHL Rumours<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

Jacob Trouba<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Rumour: Larry Brooks of the New York Post reports<\/a> that all three Metropolitan New York area teams are after the coveted righthanded-shot defender. Brooks said that up to a dozen teams, including the Rangers, New York Islanders<\/a> and New Jersey Devils<\/a> are interested in the 25-year-old American. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Brooks said the Rangers could offer the 20th pick that they got from Winnipeg as well as impending restricted free agent Pavel Buchnevich <\/strong>and, maybe, Nils Lundkvist.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

However, the Devils and Islanders are loaded with prospects that the Jets crave to keep feeding their pipeline. Some high-end picks like Noah Dobson, Bode Wilde, and Oliver Wahlstrom<\/strong> are among the names who could be involved as well.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Elliotte Friedman in 31 Thoughts column<\/a> named the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> and Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> as possible suitors. However, the asking price for the restricted free agent will be high.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Analysis:<\/em> The Jets will be able to sift through the offers<\/a> and get the best one for their club. Winnipeg is\u00a0<\/span>believed to be looking for a first-rounder and a pair of legitimate prospects or young NHLers in return.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A trade does need to happen soon, but the Jets clearly have the hammer and can name their price. They\u2019ll get a nice return from whatever team they deal Trouba to.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Detroit Red Wings<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Rumour: Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News said the team is still waiting on a decision about N<\/strong><\/em>iklas Kronwall\u2019<\/strong><\/em>s future. New general manager Steve Yzerman<\/a> said that he\u2019d love to bring back the veteran Swede.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Kulfan<\/span> also said the Wings have reached out to free agent Luke Witkowski<\/a>,<\/strong> but not Thomas Vanek<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yzerman said Kronwall has yet to come to a decision about returning next season – but #RedWings<\/a> would like to have Kronwall back. They've also talked with pending UFA Luke Witkowski, but not with Thomas Vanek.<\/p>\n
