It is good that they are closing off the season with some positivity, despite finishing in last place in the league. Young players like Zeev Buium dazzled in his last game against the Los Angeles Kings, and he has shown signs of improvement. In a lost season, that is all you can really ask for. Here’s to a better season ahead for the Canucks, but they will need to navigate through an important offseason first.

You voted him 'Most Exciting Player' for a reason. 🫡 pic.twitter.com/D7d1B4HP4n

— Vancouver Canucks (@Canucks) April 15, 2026

The Oilers Story

Edmonton still has something to play for, as their first-round playoff matchup remains uncertain. The Oilers currently sit one point above the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings and would win the tiebreaker on both of those teams. Therefore, if they gain a single point in this game, they would lock themselves into second place in the Pacific Division. However, should they lose to Vancouver, they have a very real chance to get knocked down to the second Wild Card spot. That would mean a first-round date with the Presidents’ Trophy winner, the Colorado Avalanche.

Leon Draisaitl has returned to practice following his injury, but is not ready to return to the lineup just yet. He is known to push through pain, but a knee injury would not allow him to do so very easily. He will not be playing tonight, nor is he likely to play in Game One of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Connor McDavid has kept up his dominant play in his absence and leads the league in points with 134. Could he get a couple of goals tonight and achieve his second career 50-goal season?

Starting Goalies

Below are the projected starters for tonight’s game. Please check social media for the most updated information before locking in your daily fantasy lineups.

For Vancouver, Kevin Lankinen should get the start. In 46 games this season, he has an 11-26-5 record, a 3.65 goals-against average, and an .877 save percentage.

For Edmonton, as this is a critical game for them, we expect Connor Ingram to start. In 31 games this season, he has a 15-10-3 record, a 2.65 goals-against average, and an .899 save percentage.

Prediction and Best Bets

Edmonton is playing their final game of the season under some pressure, so they will likely bring their best game forward out of the gates. A good start will be essential for the Oilers, especially if they can overwhelm the Canucks early. We predict that Edmonton will secure second place in the Pacific with a strong performance tonight.

Prediction: Oilers win 4-3.

Best Bets

To wrap things up, here are our anytime goal scorer picks.
