Our opening game of NHL predictions has the Washington Capitals<\/a> taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> for the final time this season. Logan Thompson<\/a> is the expected starter in goal for Capitals. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Washington is hanging on by a thread<\/a> in the Stanley Cup Playoff race. The Caps are five points off the last automatic spot in the Metropolitan Division and the second wild card place. Alex Ovechkin<\/a> leads the team in goals with 31.<\/p>\n

Joseph Woll<\/a> is the projected starter for the Maple Leafs in this game. Toronto has already been eliminated from postseason contention and are 4-4-2 in their last 10 games. We could see an offseason of change in the Six and players are fighting for jobs. William Nylander<\/a> leads the team in assists (47) and points (73) despite missing some games this season. John Tavares<\/a> is the team’s leading goalscorer with 30 so far this campaign.<\/p>\n

Washington is desperately trying to get points and stay in the race. The Capitals should pick up the victory and keep their slim hopes alive.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Capitals win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Edmonton Oilers vs San Jose Sharks<\/h2>\n

Head-to-Head: Oilers 2-1 Sharks<\/h3>\n

Our second and featured game of NHL predictions has the Edmonton Oilers<\/a> and the San Jose Sharks<\/a> meeting for the last time this season. The Oilers seem like they’ll continue to ride Connor Ingram<\/a> in goal and give him the start again. Edmonton is 6-3-1 in its previous 10 games but have dropped the last two games entering this matchup. The Oilers are tied for the Vegas Golden Knights<\/a> for first place in the Pacific Division. Connor McDavid<\/a> is a race with Nikita Kucherov<\/a> for the league’s lead in points with 128.<\/p>\n

Yaroslav Askarov<\/a> is the likely starter for the Sharks, who are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games. San Jose did get a victory over the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> last time out and have taken five of the last six games entering this matchup. The Sharks are three points off the second wild card in the Western Conference. Even if San Jose misses the postseason, this team has made great strides. Macklin Celebrini<\/a> is making a case for the Hart Trophy with 41 goals and 66 assists for 107 points.<\/p>\n

The two teams are in need of points for different reasons. However, Edmonton will get the victory in this one.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Oilers win 5-3.<\/em><\/p>\n

Best Bets<\/h3>\n

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s stay with our featured game for our preferred props. The over\/under for the Oilers versus the Sharks is 6.5, and we like the over in this game.<\/p>\n

As far as individual props go, take Evan Bouchard<\/a> to get a power-play point for Edmonton. On the San Jose end of things, take Celebrini to have a multiple point night.<\/p>\n
