Vegas sits at 35-26-16 after 77 games, with 86 points, while Vancouver sits at 22-46-8 after 76 games, with 52 points. This marks the third and final meeting between these two teams. Vegas won the last meeting just one short week ago, 4-2, on March 30th.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBeRYIomrY" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 5647px; aspect-ratio: 5647/3876;" ></smartframe-embed>

Credit Image: © Alex Cave/ZUMA Press Wire

The Golden Knights Story

Did Vancouver spark the Golden Knights, or did John Tortorella? After losing six of the last seven games, going into the game against Vancouver on March 30th, Vegas has strung together three-consecutive wins since then. Although their Stanley Cup Playoff berth has not been assured just yet, they find themselves in a much better position than they were a week ago. They have started to play a more complete game under new coach John Tortorella, with impressive wins against Pacific Division opponents. This improvement of play could not have come at a better time.

The Canucks Story

While the Canucks have found the back of the net more often in the last stretch of games, defence has been a huge issue. In the last five games, they have scored 19 goals, but allowed 29. That is almost six goals allowed per game. However, for the fans, watching high-event hockey like this may not be the worst thing, given that the Canucks have already clinched last place in the NHL for this season. All Vancouver can hope for is for the players to have fun out there in these final few games.

On the injury front, Kevin Lankinen is dealing with an upper-body issue, which led to Jiri Patera getting called up from Abbotsford. In 14 games this season, he has a 7-3-3 record, a 3.08 goals-against average, and an .880 save percentage.

For Vancouver, we expect Nikita Tolopilo to get the start.
