Forward Cole Eiserman signs his entry-level contract today. It is a three-year deal for the former 20th-overall pick. Furthermore, Eiserman will report to the AHL&#8217;s Bridgeport Sound Tigers. This is a big signing for the Islanders, so let&#8217;s discuss why the club and the player&#8217;s futures are so bright.<\/p>\n<h2>New York Islanders First Rounder Cole Eiserman Signs ELC<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2024\/04\/13\/cole-eiserman-scouting-report-2024-nhl-draft-6\/\" target=\"_self\">Eiserman did drop surprisingly far in the first round<\/a> of the 2024 draft. Coming into the draft, some had him projected around the top five. There had been some apparent apprehension about his skills transferring to the NHL. However, his decorated career to this point cannot be denied.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"max-width: px\"><smartframe-embed class=\"smartframe_wp_element\" customer-id=\"b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf\" image-id=\"WmOBzUMMpTnl\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 6000px; aspect-ratio: 6000\/4000;\" ><\/smartframe-embed><\/p>\n<p><span>Credit Image: \u00a9 Michael Turner\/ZUMA Press Wire<\/span><\/p>\n<p>From his time at the <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.usahockeyntdp.com\/records\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">US National Team Development<\/a> Program, he has the second most points all-time (193), behind the leader <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=hugheja03,hugheja02&amp;search=Jack+Hughes&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-18_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jack Hughes<\/a> (228) and two points more than <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/smithwi01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-18_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Will Smith<\/a> (191). He experienced much team success playing for his country. He was a member of the under-17, under-18, and under-20 Gold Medal winning sides for Team USA. Also, last year he was named to the all-tournament team for the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, in his two years at Boston University, he has shown consistency in hitting the back of the net. In his freshman year, he had 25 goals, and he followed it up with 18 this year, as a sophomore. All told, in 71 games for the Terries, he totaled 64 points. Islander fans can&#8217;t wait to see him on the power play with rookie phenom defenceman Matthew Schafer in the years to come. With veterans like <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/barzama01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-18_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathew Barzal<\/a> and <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/horvabo01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-18_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bo Horvat<\/a> there, he has plenty of tutelage to show him the professional ropes.
