Nashville sits at 29-27-8 after 64 games, with 66 points, while Vancouver sits at 19-37-8 after 64 games, with 46 points. This is the third and final meeting between these two teams. Vancouver won the previous meeting, 5-4 in overtime, on November 3rd.

The Predators Story

Despite being just two games above NHL .500, the Predators sit just one point out of Stanley Cup Playoff contention in the Western Conference. However, they chose to sell off some forwards at the NHL Trade Deadline, including Michael Bunting, Cole Smith, and Michael McCarron. In doing so, their forward group has taken a hit and looks very top-heavy now. They will need top veteran scorers in Ryan O’Reilly, Filip Forsberg, and Steven Stamkos to lead the charge even more if they want to squeak into the postseason.

The Canucks Story

Vancouver has shown some better efforts recently, but it is no secret that they are playing some of the worst hockey in the NHL. Being 1-6-3 in their last ten games, the results are not coming, but it is no surprise given the trades they made at the deadline. Their home record is the worst in the league at 6-20-5 so far this season. Their six wins tie the 1975-76 Washington Capitals for the least amount of home wins in a season. However, there is still time in the season to get a couple more wins at home.

Starting Goalies

Below are the projected starters for tonight’s game.
