He was signed by the Canucks on a $1.1 million salary cap hit on November 15, 2025. Kampf was brought in due to the numerous injuries the Canucks sustained down the middle, including Filip Chytil and Teddy Blueger.

Additionally, Lukas Reichel, another player traded, was brought in for a similar reason. In 19 NHL games this season with the Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks, he had two goals, three assists for five points. He could not hold a roster spot on the Canucks roster, leading to him getting sent down to the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL. Furthermore, Reichel was acquired from the Blackhawks for a 2027 fourth-round pick, which means the Canucks lost value here. However, it is better to get something rather than nothing from a player who has not panned out. The Canucks will acquire two sixth-round draft picks from their deals here.

Vancouver Unable To Trade All of their Pending UFAs

The Canucks did not end up trading pending unrestricted free agents, Teddy Blueger and Evander Kane. Local reporters have mentioned that Vancouver likes what Blueger brings to the team and may consider extending him. Evander Kane, on a $5.125 million contract, was likely not moved because no team wanted to pay this kind of money, even after retention. It is unclear what the Canucks plan to do with Kane, but we expect more clarity as the season progresses.

The Canucks did not trade UFA's Teddy Blueger or Evander Kane.

— Rick Dhaliwal (@DhaliwalSports) March 6, 2026

Thus, the deadline comes to an end for the Vancouver Canucks.
