The St Louis Blues<\/a> and the Edmonton Oilers<\/a> square off in the final game of the Sunday slate. St Louis is coming into Sunday’s game in sixth place entering Saturday night’s action. The Blues are coming off a 3-2 shootout win against the Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> on Friday night. St Louis is 5-5 in its last 10 games but has won its last two games in a row.<\/p>\n

Edmonton is in second place in the Pacific Division entering Saturday night’s Hockey Night in Canada matchup with the rival Vancouver Canucks<\/a>. The Oilers are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games but have dropped their previous two games entering this Western Conference matchup with the Blues. Their 6-0 demolition job of the Canucks has them going in with momentum.<\/p>\n

St Louis won the first encounter between the two teams by a 3-2 score on November 3. Let’s take a look at the statistics and storylines heading into this Sunday matchup on NHL predictions.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Blues Story<\/h3>\n

St Louis has struggled to score goals this season. The Blues are last in the league with 2.48 goals scored per game. However, their defence hasn’t been much better with 3.35 goals allowed per game, which is 29th in the league.<\/p>\n

Jordan Binnington<\/a> is expected to get the start in goal for St Louis. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Binnington has struggled at times this season with an 8-12-6 record and a 3.53 goals-against-average. His save percentage of .871 is also something left to be desired.<\/p>\n

Robert Thomas<\/a> did a goal and an assist in the 3-2 victory in St Louis earlier in the season. Thomas leads the team in assists (22) and points (33). Jake Neighbours<\/a> is tops in the goalscoring charts 12 so far for the Blues.<\/p>\n

The Oilers Story<\/h3>\n

Edmonton has been inconsistent for stretches this season. However, the Oilers are still in second place in the wide-open Pacific Division. We’ve seen Edmonton go on runs in previous seasons to solidify its hold on a Stanley Cup playoff spot.<\/p>\n

Connor Ingram<\/a> is the confirmed starter after the return of Tristan Jarry<\/a> to the crease on Saturday against Vancouver. Ingram has been decent enough with a 4-3-1 record and a 2.49 goals-against-average. The veteran goalie also has a .907 save percentage.<\/p>\n

Connor McDavid<\/a> continues to be the gold standard for Edmonton with 30 goals and 52 assists for 82 points so far. However, the Oilers will be without<\/a> a key part of their lineup as Leon Draisaitl<\/a> has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons.<\/p>\n

Prediction<\/h3>\n

The Oilers will definitely miss having Draisaitl in the lineup. However, the Oilers have plenty of talent on the offensive end. Andrew Mangiapane<\/a> will draw into the lineup to replace the big German, but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins<\/a> and Zach Hyman<\/a> will have to step up.<\/p>\n

One other factor is the Blues will have some extra rest while the Oilers will have played in Vancouver on Saturday night. However, Edmonton should record the win at home.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Oilers win 5-3.<\/em><\/p>\n

Prop Bets of the Night<\/h3>\n

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. The over\/under for the Blues versus the Oilers is 6.5, and we like the over in this game.<\/p>\n

As for individual props, take Jordan Kyrou<\/a> to get an anytime goal for St Louis. On the Edmonton side of things, go with Evan Bouchard<\/a> to register a power-play point.<\/p>\n
