As of print, this means there’s currently no timetable for the 21-year-old to return to action. As a result, his left leg got caught on the right post next to goaltender Kevin Lankinen. He stayed in the game, but it certainly didn’t look good. Afterwards, Cooley was a late scratch for the game on Saturday against the Calgary Flames. The best case for the Mammoth is that Cooley just pulled something, but a tear of any kind would be devastating to Utah’s season. As of now, the extent of his injury is unknown.

Cooley is an important part of Utah’s core, especially on offence. He has 14 goals and 23 points in 29 games this season, while averaging 17:49 per game. Cooley also signed an eight-year, $80 million contract in October.

Mammoth announce Logan Cooley will be out indefinitely due to a lower-body injury.

Cooley crashed into the net against Vancouver on Friday and hit his leg on the post pic.twitter.com/sdPgQDnO8F

— B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce) December 8, 2025

How Does this Change Utah’s Lineup

With the news of Cooley’s absence, this will certainly force Mammoth head coach Andre Tourigny to make an adjustment to his lineup.
