Tonight’s Monday Night Hockey on Prime edition of NHL predictions is a battle of teams<\/a> looking for consistency. Both the Winnipeg Jets<\/a> and the Buffalo Sabres<\/a> are looking for consistency and have been dealing with injuries. Winnipeg has been dealing with the loss of Hart Trophy and Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck<\/a>. The Jets are hoping to get back on track against the Sabres.<\/p>\n

Buffalo is also trying to get steadier play despite having three important players out of the lineup. Both the Sabres and Jets did get victories on Saturday. However, both clubs are trying to string some wins together. The Sabres’ Stanley Cup Playoff drought is at 14 seasons, but they will need to do some work in order to get into postseason contention.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at the statistics and storylines on this Monday Night Hockey on Prime edition of NHL predictions.<\/p>\n

The Jets’ Story<\/h3>\n

Winnipeg is 4-6 in the last 10 games, but did get a win over the Nashville Predators<\/a> on Saturday night. It’s been tough sledding for the defending Presidents’ Trophy winners. The Jets are a top 10 team in power play, penalty kill, faceoff percentage, and goals scored. However, Winnipeg has been up and down this season.<\/p>\n

Thomas Milic<\/a> is the expected starter for the Jets, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Milic struggled in his first start against the Carolina Hurricanes, with four goals allowed. He and Eric Comrie<\/a> will have to shoulder the load while Hellebuyck is out.<\/p>\n

Mark Scheifele<\/a> is leading the team in assists (13), assists (18) and points (31) so far this campaign. Kyle Connor<\/a> is next up with 12 goals, 17 assists, and 29 points through the first two months of the season.<\/p>\n

The Sabres’ Story<\/h3>\n

Buffalo is coming off a 3-2 shootout win over the Minnesota Wild.<\/a> However, the Sabres are 5-5 in the last 10 games. Buffalo has won three of its last five games entering this matchup. The Sabres sit in eighth place in a bunched-up Atlantic Division.<\/p>\n

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen<\/a> is the probable starter for the Sabres and is 3-3-1 with a 2.73 goals-against-average and a .891 save percentage. The Swedish netminder last played in a 4-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Alex Tuch<\/a> is leading the team in assists (14) and points (22) so far this campaign. Tage Thompson<\/a> is tops in goals with 12 so far this season.<\/p>\n

Prediction<\/h3>\n

Both teams are trying to find their way and deal with adversity. Milic has been a highly-touted prospect, but he’ll need help from the team in front of him. Buffalo is trying to get some momentum going to start December.<\/p>\n

The Jets do have a little more firepower and are steadier on the defensive end. Winnipeg should get the victory on the road at the KeyBank Center.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Jets win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n
