The dollar amount is unknown as of publication but it is confirmed to be a one-year contract. It was all but confirmed that the 29-year-old winger would test the open market and end up elsewhere. This will add more competition in the Mammoth bottom-six. So, Carcone may have to fight for a spot, particularly with <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/o\/obrieli01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liam O\u2019Brien<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perhaps Carcone did not like the offers he was receiving from other teams, or he had a change of heart. Carcone had said himself that he felt his time in Utah was over and was ready to move on. He is<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> coming off a two-year, $775,000 deal. More known for his forechecking rather than point scoring, Carcone will be a good option in a checking role in 2025-2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carcone will not receive the playing time he hopes for in Utah. Despite this, he still chose to return after averaging just 11 minutes last season. Expect him to remain in a fourth-line role, especially with Tanev signing and probably locking down a position on the third-line.
