He has 77 career goals and 118 assists in that time. Furthermore, his career highlight was likely the 2024 Stanley Cup championship as a member of the Florida Panthers. In addition, he played an important depth-forward role on that team. That’s what led to the Ottawa Senators becoming interested him for the 2024-25 campaign.

The Ottawa Senators Have an Injury Upfront

Just What Does Cousins Bring to Your Lineup

As Nick Cousins signs this deal, there is reason for optimism. His ability to play up and down the lineup has, and will continue to be an asset he can provide. He had six goals and nine assists in 50 games in the Canadian National capital in 2024-25. Moreover, that was in just under 12 minutes of ice time. To be relied upon, when not getting much rhythm from limited ice time, is a big part of Cousins’ intangibles. If you’re wondering, Cousins’ season was shortened with a knee injury. In addition, he did return. He played in the final five games of the series versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. Furthermore, his physicality was not unnoticed. These are the details that all helped lead to him be signed.

With this contract, he will continue to provide those attributes. Moreover, he is hard to play against, and as we suggested can move throughout the lineup. For any team looking to be thought of a playoff contenders, he will be a great asset.

Main Photo Credit: Marc DesRosiers-Imagn Images

Making news today is a veteran, and a former Stanley Cup winner, too.
