Edmonton rode a huge third-period surge to energize their home crowd and breathe life into their playoff hopes. Now, Game 4 becomes pivotal: the Kings can reclaim full control, or the Oilers can turn this into a best-of-three. Expect another high-energy, physical battle with major stakes on the line.

Kings Seek Bounce-Back After Letting Game Slip Away

The Kings looked poised to take a stranglehold on the series, leading about halfway through the third period of Game 3. However, defensive breakdowns and a critical failed coach’s challenge for goaltender interference opened the door for Edmonton’s comeback. Despite the loss, the Kings’ special teams remain deadly, converting on two of three power-play opportunities to maintain a staggering 53.8% success rate in the series. Adrian Kempe continues to drive the offence with four goals and five assists, but Los Angeles will need a sharper, more composed defensive effort in Game 4 if they want to head back home with a 3–1 series lead.

Oilers Rally With Explosive Third Period

Facing a must-win situation, the Edmonton Oilers delivered in a big way with a 7–4 victory in Game 3. Trailing 4–3 midway through the third period, the Oilers exploded with four unanswered goals, including tallies from Evander Kane (his first since May 2024) and Evan Bouchard just 10 seconds apart. Connor McDavid was everywhere, recording a goal and two assists, while Evan Bouchard and Connor Brown each chipped in two goals. Calvin Pickard, making his first playoff start of the year, provided some stability with 24 saves. Most importantly, Edmonton’s power play finally broke through, finding the back of the net for the first time this series.

NHL Predictions: Game 4

The stakes could not be higher. The Oilers finally unlocked their offensive firepower in Game 3, and it feels like the dam has burst. With Connor McDavid leading the charge and their confidence restored, Edmonton looks primed to even the series on home ice. The Kings will not go quietly, especially with a power play that remains lethal, but their defensive cracks are starting to show. Expect another high-scoring, emotional game — but the Oilers have too much momentum to waste this opportunity.

Prediction: Oilers win 5–3

Prop Bets of the Night

We round out NHL Predictions with some prop bets of the night. The series is averaging 10 goals per game, so the over (o6.5, +102) is not a bad idea. Connor McDavid’s 2+ points prop (+105) is always a strong play, especially after a three-point night. Adrian Kempe 2+ points is also appealing (+260), given his hot streak. Lastly, Evan Bouchard’s 2+ points (+320) is worth a look with his increased power-play usage. (Postseason record: 6-3)

Please play responsibly, check for your local rules and age restrictions, some jurisdictions require ages 21+.
