The team has signed 20-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2022\/06\/28\/cameron-lund-scouting-report-2022-nhl-draft\/\" target=\"_self\">Cameron Lund<\/a> to an entry-level contract. The contract starts immediately and he will find himself in San Jose in the next few days.<\/p>\n<h2>Sharks Sign Lund To A Three Year Entry-Level Contract<\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">SIGNED \u270d\ufe0f<\/p>\n<p>The <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SJSharks?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#SJSharks<\/a> have signed Cameron Lund to an entry-level contract. <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TheFutureIsTeal?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#TheFutureIsTeal<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SanJoseSharks\/status\/1903191351002607940?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March 21, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cameron Lund was a second round pick, 34th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, selected by the Sharks. Since being selected, he has been with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2021\/03\/22\/montreal-canadiens-prospect-jordan-harris-to-return-to-northeastern-for-senior-season\/\" target=\"_self\">Northeastern University<\/a> where he has helped the team move to the semifinals of their conference tournament this year.\u00a0 With a 14-20-3 record, Northeastern is not in contention for a bid in the National Frozen Four Tournament and so the Huskies most recent loss ends their season, allowing Lund to join the Sharks.\u00a0 Lund has been an asset for the Huskies as they wrap up their season.<\/p>\n<p>The six-foot-two forward has finished his college hockey season with 40 points. This consists of 18 goals and 22 assists over 37 games. For the last three seasons of Lund\u2019s college career, he has played in 107 games, with a career total of 93 points. Over the last three years, he has been tied for 26th in NCAA scoring.<\/p>\n<p>Lund has been a valuable player on his NCAA Men&#8217;s Hockey Team, his skill and experience have been noticed and awarded. He has been awarded the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in the 2022-2023 season. In the same season, he was awarded the Rookie of the Year. He is a two-time nominee of the Hobey Baker Award.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to college, Lund played for the United States National Team Development Program (US NTDP), at both the Under 17 and Under 18 levels.<\/p>\n<h2>San Jose Sharks Are Ending Their Season At Another Low<\/h2>\n<p>Lund is one of the top young centres in the Sharks prospect pool, following <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2025\/03\/14\/san-jose-sharks-young-rookies-dominate-on-ice\/\" target=\"_self\">Macklin Celebrini<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2024\/11\/26\/san-jose-sharks-centre-presents-dilemma-with-strong-play\/\" target=\"_self\">Will Smith<\/a>. The young forward has the drive and the ambition to play at the pro level. He will be joining the Sharks in San Jose within the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>Besides finishing last in the league, the Sharks will also be missing out on the playoffs for the sixth year in a row. With 69 games played so far this season, they have a record of 18-42-9. The team has been at the bottom of the league for the last few years.
