In 128 career NHL games, Greig has scored 21 goals and added 26 assists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Senators <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2020\/05\/06\/ridly-greig-scouting-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">drafted Greig<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the first round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The Lethbridge native has been a spark on the Senators roster. He is a <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">hard<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> skater and can get under the skin of his opponents. There is some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/marchbr03.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-01-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brad Marchand<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/wilsoto01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-01-10_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tom Wilson<\/a> in <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Greig&#8217;s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> play.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Role with the Senators<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Greig&#8217;s new contract follows a season in which he played 72 games left season. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As a result, Greig went into the new season <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">with the <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2024\/01\/19\/ridly-greig-deserves-to-be-primary-player-for-ottawa-senators\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">expectation of being<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> a regular in the lineup<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> That has happened <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> then some. The organization last made the playoffs in 2017, when they came within one win of the Stanley Cup Final. As a result, the organization and their fans hope the team can get over the hump and into the playoffs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Currently, the Senators sit three points out of the Eastern <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Conference&#8217;s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> final playoff spot.
