He has put up 124 goals and 96 assists for 216 career points in 766 career games. Boyle has also picked up 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points in 114 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. He was originally drafted 26th overall of the 2013 NHL draft by the Kings.

Last season he scored 18 goals and six assists for 24 points. He also added 38 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 47.5 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of -1.7.

What This Means for the Future of Brian Boyle

In Boyle, his new team is acquiring a big center who brings a ton of experience to their team. Last season, his 18 goals were second best in his career. He has proven that he can be a second or third-line center who will contribute on both sides of the ice. Boyle was acquired by the Predators in February from the Devils in exchange for a second-round pick in the upcoming draft. Nashville added Boyle for depth in the playoffs. In three games during the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he recorded two assists. Boyle missed Games Two through Four with an abdominal injury.

Boyle will add a boost to his new team for next season. He has played great hockey ever since he came back after finding out his cancer was in remission. Expect that play to carry over into next season.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

The Florida Panthers signed free agent center Brian Boyle to a one-year contract worth $940,000.
