This week has a heavy schedule, with 24 teams playing four times. Only three teams play four times with two games on light days. These teams are the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, and Vancouver Canucks. These are the teams you should target to find your 2024 Week 8 fantasy hockey streamers.

Week 8 Fantasy Hockey Streamers

Boston Bruins

The Bruins have not started the season off great and have recently relieved Jim Montgomery from his head coaching duties. A new coach bump may be coming, and with games on two of the lighter days this week, you can capitalize by adding Bruins as a 2024 Week 8 fantasy hockey stream.

Pavel Zacha has been bumped up to the first line playing with David Pastrnak. Averaging 18:40 TOI and 3:50 TOIPP, Zacha’s deployment makes him a high upside add this week. Zacha had a career-high 59 points last season, and the Bruins will rely on him moving forward to be an offensive contributor.

Charlie Coyle is also coming off a career-high in points and is a player the Bruins would like to see an increase in production from. Coyle has four goals and one assist in 21 games so far, well off his pace from last season. Four of those points have come on the man advantage. Coyle’s decent shot, hit, and block rate along with his deployment at 17:33 average TOI and 2:49 average TOIPP make him a good streaming bet.

Boston also has a back-to-back this week, so we should expect Joonas Korpisalo to get at least one start. Jeremy Swayman is off to a rough start to the season at 5-7-2 since signing his new contract. Korpisalo on the other hand is posting a .911 SV%. Two starts on a busy week could be a possibility for Korpisalo. If Korpisalo is getting the start on a day your goalie spots aren’t full, pick him up for a stream.

Montreal Canadiens

Leading the Montreal Canadiens streamer options this week is defenceman Kaiden Guhle. Averaging over 21 minutes a game, Guhle has racked up solid peripheral numbers. In 14 games played, the 22-year-old has 40 blocks, 19 hits, and 18 SOG. With six points so far, he can also contribute with goals and assists. His rounded game makes him a good stream this week.

Kirby Dach is another Hab who should be considered for a stream for Week 8. Dach has had some hot and cold spells this season, but most recently has three points in his last four games. His peripheral numbers are solid, registering 39 hits and 35 SOG in 19 games so far this season. At a 2.9 S%, Dach’s efficiency should increase, as his xGF/60 is the highest in his career. Along with top line and top powerplay deployment, Dach makes for a good upside stream this week.

Vancouver Canucks

Kiefer Sherwood has been an incredible fantasy hockey asset in banger and category leagues this season. Providing one of the safest floors in fantasy hockey right now, even if Sherwood does not put up a point, he can get you five to ten hits on any given night. As a bonus, he has five goals and ten points in 18 games, and has a massive 115-hit count. With J.T. Miller out of the lineup for the time being, Sherwood is set to receive a bump in deployment with time on the first line. At 41% rostered on Fantrax, he is available in most leagues and should be picked up for Week 8.

Kiefer Sherwood’s ability to pull off small skill moves like this is why he’s such a versatile player. Already seeing good deployment with 19:05 TOI per game and 3:30 TOIPP on average, these numbers could increase with J.T. Miller’s absence. Garland is also on a small point streak, with a point in each of his last three games. As a streamer this week, riding Garland while he’s hot could lead to some fantasy success.

If you need defencemen on a light night this week, look to add Filip Hronek. He can provide around a shot and a block per game, with around two hits. There is an upside for more here, as Hronek is shooting at a career-low rate, which may regress to the mean.
