Each day,\u00a0Last Word on Hockey<\/em> takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head matchups and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today\u2019s featured game is the Vegas Golden Knights<\/a> vs Utah Hockey Club<\/a>. NHL Predictions<\/h2>\n

Nashville Predators vs Calgary Flames<\/h3>\n

Time:<\/strong> 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> Fan Duel Sports South; SN West; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our first game of NHL predictions has the Nashville Predators visiting the Calgary Flames. Scott Wedgewood<\/a> is the expected starter with Nashville playing the night before. These two teams are playing the opposite of what experts thought this season. Nashville is scuffling while Calgary is giving a good account of itself. Filip Forsberg<\/a> leads the club in goals (8) and points (13).<\/p>\n

Dustin Wolf<\/a> is the expected starter for Calgary, but always check social media before locking in a fantasy starter. The Flames have lost seven of the last 10, but have been a tough out. Jonathan Huberdeau<\/a> is first in goals with six while Rasmus Andersson<\/a> is tops in points with 11.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Predators are desperate, but are coming off the second game of a back-to-back.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Flames win 4-3.<\/em><\/p>\n

Vegas Golden Knights vs Utah Hockey Club<\/h3>\n

Head-to-Head: Golden Knights 1-0 Utah HC<\/h4>\n

Time:<\/strong> 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> Utah16; Scripps Vegas; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our featured game has Vegas making the trip to Salt Lake City. Adin Hill<\/a> is the likely starter for the Golden Knights, who got back on track with a win over the Anaheim Ducks<\/a>. Jack Eichel<\/a> has picked up the slack with 20 assists and 25 points with the Mark Stone<\/a> injury. Pavel Dorofeyev<\/a> is first on the team in goals with nine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Utah has cooled off after its fast start and will likely go with Connor Ingram<\/a> in the blue paint. Clayton Keller<\/a> is first on the the team in points with 14 while Dylan Guenther<\/a> tops Utah with seven goals. Utah HC did beat the Carolina Hurricanes last time out.<\/p>\n

This should be a good game, but Vegas walks away with the win.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Golden Knights win 3-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Washington Capitals vs Colorado Avalanche<\/h3>\n

Time:<\/strong> 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> Monument Sports Network 2; Altitude2; ESPN+<\/p>\n

We have a good matchup to continue NHL predictions as the Washington Capitals<\/a> visit the Colorado Avalanche.<\/a> Washington is slated to go with Charlie Lindgren<\/a> in the crease for this one. Alex Ovechkin<\/a> is leading in goals with 10 while Dylan Strome<\/a> is tops in assists (18) and points (23).<\/p>\n

Colorado is expected to counter with Alexandar Georgiev<\/a><\/span> in the goal for this one. The Avalanche have won three straight and are starting to recover from a shaky start. Nathan MacKinnon<\/a> is off to another great start with 33 points already this campaign. Mikko Rantanen<\/a> powers the Avalanche offence in goals with 12 so far. <\/span><\/p>\n

This could have made an argument for the featured game of the night. Colorado continues its good run with a victory.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Avalanche win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Detroit Red Wings vs Anaheim Ducks<\/h3>\n

Time:<\/strong> 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> Sportsnet; KCOP; Fan Duel Sports Detroit; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Prediction: Red Wings win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Prop Bets of the Night<\/h3>\n

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Rantanen <\/span>seems like a smart play as an anytime goalscorer on FanDuel<\/a> at +145. Ovechkin seems like a good wager as an anytime at +155 on FanDuel as well.<\/p>\n
