Each day,\u00a0Last Word on Hockey<\/em> takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head matchups and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today\u2019s featured game is the St Louis Blues<\/a> vs Montreal Canadiens.<\/a> Be sure to check out more NHL predictions in the coming days as the 2024-25 season continues.<\/p>\n

NHL Predictions<\/h2>\n

Utah Hockey Clubs vs Los Angeles Kings<\/h3>\n

Time:<\/strong> 4 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> Sportsnet; Fan Duel Sports West; Utah16; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our opening game of NHL predictions has the Utah Hockey Club<\/a> to take on the Los Angeles Kings.<\/a> Utah has slowed down after a red-hot start and has lost two straight games. Connor Ingram<\/a> is the expected starter for Utah, but always check social media before locking in a fantasy starter. Dylan Guenther<\/a> leads the team in goals with, but has slowed down after a hot start. Clayton Keller<\/a> is first in points with eight on four goals and four assists.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles is expected to go with Darcy Kuemper<\/a> in goal for this game. The Kings have been able to beat up on the bad teams and have won two straight games. Alex Laferriere<\/a> is leading the way in goals with four while Anze Kopitar<\/a> is the team-leader in points with eight.<\/span><\/p>\n

This could be an important early-season game. However, the Kings should pick up the victory.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Kings win 4-3.<\/em><\/p>\n

St Louis Blues vs Montreal Canadiens<\/h3>\n

Time:<\/strong> 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> Fan Duel Sports Midwest; SN1; CityTV; TVAS; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our second and featured game of NHL predictions has the Blues visiting the Canadiens. Jordan Binnington<\/a> is the expected starter for the Blues, who are coming off a victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.<\/a> St Louis is without Robert Thomas<\/a> for the foreseeable future due to a lower-body injury. Jordan Kyrou<\/a> is first in points with nine while a number of players have the team-lead in goals with three.<\/p>\n

Sam Montembeault<\/a><\/span> is the confirmed starter for Montreal in this one as it tries to get back on the winning track. The Habs have lost four straight games and a number of injuries. Cole Caufield<\/a> leads the team in goals with six while he’s tied with captain Nick Suzuki<\/a> for the lead in points with seven.<\/p>\n

Both teams have been struggling with injuries, but the Blues are able to adapt a bit better.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Blues win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anaheim Ducks vs New York Rangers<\/h3>\n

Time:<\/strong> 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)<\/p>\n

TV:<\/strong> KCOP-TV; MSG; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our final game of NHL predictions has the Anaheim Ducks<\/a> visit the New York Rangers<\/a>. Lukas Dostal<\/a> is the expected starter for the Ducks, who have been respectable to start the season. Troy Terry<\/a> is first in goals (4) and assists (5) for Anaheim. Mason McTavish<\/a> leads the team in assists with three so far.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Quick<\/a> is the expected starter for the Rangers, who are coming off their first regulation loss of the season. However, the Blueshirts should still be considered one of the top teams’ in the NHL. Artemi Panarin<\/a> is having a monster start of the season by leading in goals (6), assists (8) and points (14).<\/p>\n

Anaheim has been solid, but New York gets back on the winning track.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Rangers win 4-1.<\/em><\/p>\n

Prop Bets of the Night<\/h3>\n

We have a couple of prop bets for this set of NHL predictions. St Louis is getting -125 in the game against Montreal and the spread of 1.5 is at +210.<\/p>\n

For the final game, Alexis Lafreniere<\/a> is a good pick on FanDuel<\/a> for an anytime scorer at +190. Terry is worth a shot +430 for an anytime scorer as well.<\/p>\n
