To gain an edge, focus on players from teams that play on lighter days with fewer games, while your main players fill your lineup on the heavier days. Here’s a roundup of some top streaming options to help you capitalize on your games played this week.

Players to Stream in Fantasy Hockey

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, D – Toronto Maple Leafs

This is more of a long-term add than a streamer, but Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a must-add fantasy hockey defenceman. OEL recently replaced Morgan Rielly as the quarterback on Toronto’s top power-play unit, giving him heightened exposure to Rocket Richard-winning sniper Auston Matthews and the rest of the ‘Core Four’.

Ekman-Larsson is averaging over 22 minutes TOI with 3:36 on the man advantage and is firing everything at the net with 17 shots in 5 games. He has not recorded a power-play point yet, but if he remains on the first unit the points will come and he could turn into an extremely valuable player in fantasy hockey leagues running a top 10 power-play in the NHL.

On Fantrax, OEL was drafted in only 51% of leagues. Ekman-Larsson currently sits at 72% rostered on Fantrax and 38% on Yahoo, with a 20% increase in the last week. This may be your last opportunity to add him to your roster in free agency.

Stefan Noesen, LW, RW – New Jersey Devils

If you are in a deeper league, this one is for you. Stefan Noesen is only 31% rostered on Fantrax and 13% on Yahoo, meaning he is likely available in most leagues. Noesen will not be a top-minute getter on Sheldon Keefe’s high-octane Devils team, but he is currently slated on PP1 alongside superstar Jack Hughes.

#NJDevils PP1:

Noesen, Hughes, Hischier, Bratt, Hamilton

— James Nichols (@JamesNicholsNHL) October 19, 2024

Through 8 games so far, Noesen has 2 goals and 8 points with 19 hits and 11 shots. The 31-year old can be as high as a top 20 player in some fantasy formats right now, but it may not continue for much longer so it is best to grab him while he is hot.

If you can wait until Thursday to add Noesen, that is where you will get him at the most value, as New Jersey plays three times in four nights to close out the week.

Morgan Frost, C – Philadelphia Flyers

25-year old Morgan Frost is entering his 6th NHL season and has seen decent production in the early going. The biggest improvement over last year, however, comes in his time on ice. Last season, Frost averaged 15:50 TOI and 2:37 minutes on the man advantage, ending the season with 13 goals and 41 points in 71 games.

Though a small sample size, so far this year Frost is averaging 18:14 TOI and 4:36 PPTOI playing first line and first power-play with exciting Russian rookie Matvei Michkov. He also has a career high 10.6 shots on goal per 60 to start the season.

The Flyers play on two light days this week (Wednesday and Sunday) and four times total. As a centre only player, he may not fight into your lineup Tuesday, so look to add Frost ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Capitals.

Josh Norris, C – Ottawa Senators

The Senators play twice on light days at the end of the week which makes them a great team to get a weekend add from. While Josh Norris’ injury history made fantasy managers shy away from drafting him (only 50% drafted on Fantrax), Norris has looked good so far to start the season, registering 3 goals and 5 points through 5 games, including 3 power-play points with good peripheral stats.

He is playing second line with Claude Giroux and Drake Batherson, who are also both having great starts to the season, and has a spot on the Sens’ top power-play. It should not be hard to fit Norris into your line-up on Friday or Sunday this week and could be one of the best fantasy hockey streamers in week 3.

Neuf wanted to keep going.
