The Buffalo Sabres<\/a> and general manager Kevyn Adams<\/a> have some news to announce today. Restricted free agent forward Peyton Krebs<\/a> signs a two-year extension with the club. The deal is for an annual average value of $1.45 million<\/a>, and is one that works for both club and player.<\/div>\n

Peyton Krebs Signs Two-Year Contract Extension<\/h3>\n

Peyton Krebs was originally a Vegas Golden Knight<\/a> draft pick back in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Moreover, he was involved in the Jack Eichel<\/a> to Vegas trade back in the fall of 2021. He had only appeared for Vegas in 13 games at the time, recording but a lone assist. The potential was there, and that\u2019s why the move to Buffalo was a good one for his career development.<\/div>\n

Since Krebs has arrived in Buffalo, he has played regularly, but still waiting to breakout. Over three seasons, he has 202 games played for the Sabres. In those games, he has 20 goals, 45 assists, for a total of 65 points, averaging 13:32<\/span> of ice time a game. If he\u2019s not scoring, he does try to provide physicality to the lineup, with a total of 220 hits in those games.<\/div>\n

As Peyton Krebs Signs, Just What Does He Bring to the Sabres<\/h3>\n
The Sabres have a young forward group, that provides size and potential. Krebs is among the group of players that provides lots of potential. At 24, he is hoping to add some more consistency to his ice time and production. Among the group of young forwards looking to improve upon last year, Krebs fits in with guys like Jack Quinn<\/a>, John-Jason Peterka<\/a>, and Zach Benson<\/a>. These are all guys who will benefit greatly into 2024-25 with another season under their belts. If they can have big seasons, it would mean great things for the Sabres as they push towards a 2025 playoff spot.<\/div>\n
