As we continue to make our way closer to the end of our series we’ll see fewer options for each jersey number. In this series, the number 69 is skipped as no Calgary Flames<\/a> player has ever worn that jersey number for the franchise. Despite this, there are still some big names to be found so let’s take a look now at our next jersey, number 61.<\/p>\n

Best Calgary Flames by Jersey Number: 61- 70<\/h2>\n

#61 – Brett Kulak<\/a> (Defenceman)<\/h3>\n

Kulak began his professional career in Calgary. He played parts of 4 seasons in Calgary, but only one full season in the NHL. The 2017-18 season was his final season in Calgary. He played 71 games for the team and showed he had the potential to play in the league. The Flames would trade Kulak to Montreal,<\/a> where he would go on to establish himself as a true NHLer.<\/p>\n

Honourable Mention – Walker Duehr<\/a> (Right Wing)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Duehr wore the number 61 for just one game when he got his first NHL action in 2021-2022. He would go on to switch his number to 71, which means we’ll learn more about him in the next round of this series.<\/p>\n

#62 – Andrei Nazarov<\/a> (Left Wing)<\/h3>\n

Nazarov played two seasons for the Calgary Flames. His best season came in the 1990-2000 season where he played in 76 games, scoring 10 goals and 31 points. Nazarov’s stop in Calgary was part of a 12-year NHL career.<\/p>\n

Honourable Mention – Daniil Miromanov<\/a> (Defenceman)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Miromanov came to Calgary last season as part of the Noah Hanifin<\/a> trade with Vegas<\/a>. Shortly thereafter Miromanov resigned a two-year deal<\/a> with the Flames. The contract is long enough for the Flames to determine if Miromanov can develop into the player they targeted in the trade. During his first 20 games in Calgary, he scored seven points and averaged just over 21 minutes a night.<\/p>\n

#63 – Adam Ru\u017ei\u010dka<\/a> (Centre)<\/h3>\n

Ruzicka was a fourth-round selection of the Flames franchise in 2017. He was a big body with good offensive skills. Unfortunately, he was never able to flourish in the NHL. He spent the majority of this time in Calgary split between the AHL and the Flames fourth line. Ruzicka scored 40 points over 114 NHL games with the Calgary Flames.<\/p>\n

Honourable Mention – Sam Bennett<\/a> (Centre)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bennett wore the number 63 for just one NHL game. It was the final game of the 2014-15 season where Bennett recorded an assist. We will learn more about Bennett’s time in Calgary when we review jersey numbers 91-99.<\/p>\n

#64\u00a0 – Garnet Hathaway<\/a> (Right Wing)<\/h3>\n

Hathaway only wore the number 64 for two of his four seasons in Calgary. Since he’s the only player to ever wear the number 64 in an NHL game, he’s the clear pick for best Flame to ever wear it. Flames fans will remember Hathaway for his hard-nosed style of play. He was part of a very effective fourth line in Calgary. Any player willing to drop the gloves and fight will be remembered fondly in Calgary.<\/p>\n

#65 – Turner Elson<\/a> (Left Wing)<\/h3>\n

One game, one assist. It’s easy to dismiss a player who only played three NHL games, but let’s remember just how difficult it is to ever make it to the NHL. Congratulations to Turner Elson on his hockey career.<\/p>\n

#66 – T.J. Brodie<\/a> (Defenceman)<\/h3>\n

Brodie wore the jersey number 66 for one season and three games. He made the switch to the number seven and would go on to become a key defenceman for the Flames for a decade. Learn more about Brodie in our first round of this series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

#67 – Michael Frol\u00edk<\/a> (Left Wing)<\/h3>\n

Frolik was a solid player over his 13 NHL seasons. During his time in Calgary, Frolik was a defensively sound player who could kill penalties and provide some offence. He formed a great partnership with Flames centre Mikael Backlund<\/a>. Their line provided the Flames with a great shutdown line, that also possessed the ability to counterattack and score. His best season as a Flames came during the 2016-17 season when he scored 17 goals and 44 points.<\/p>\n

Honourable Mention: Radim Zohorna<\/a> (Left Wing)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The big 6-foot-6 forward was claimed off waivers by Calgary during the 2022 season. He was in Calgary for just part of that season. Zohorna was traded to Toronto<\/a> after going scoreless in eight games with the Flames.<\/p>\n

#68 – Jarom\u00edr J\u00e1gr<\/a> (Right Wing)<\/h3>\n

When you hear that iconic name, no one thinks of Jagr in a Flames jersey. His final stop in the NHL didn’t go the way anyone had hoped. After just 22 games played and one goal scored, Jagr would retire from the league. However, even for that brief period, Jagr brought life to the city. Fans were excited to see the legend of the game, jerseys were sold, and when he touched the puck everyone was watching.<\/p>\n
