King Henrik has multiple Blueshirts records. He is their all-time shutout leader by far with 64, followed by Ed Giacomin with 49. The same is true for wins, with Lundqvist holding 459. The King also notched an NHL record by winning six consecutive Game 7s. Spending his entire 15-season NHL career with the Blueshirts, Lundqvist played in five NHL All-Star Games (2009, 2011, 2012, 2018 and 2019). He has also made the most saves by a Blueshirts NHL goaltender by far with 23,509 in 887 games, followed by Mike Richter with 17,379 in 666 games.

Henrik Lundqvist’s Top 10 Career Saves (youtube.com)

2. Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers Goalie since 2019-20

Obviously, Shesty is one of the best New York Rangers goalies in history. The 28-year-old Moscow, Russia native currently holds the all-time Blueshirts save percentage record for a goalie who’s played 100 games or more, .921, even at his relatively young age. The tight runner-up is Lundqvist at .918. Right from his time as a young gun, his potential was crystal clear. Picked by the Blueshirts 118th overall in 2014, he became one of the best goalies in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). In his last season with SKA St. Petersburg, his record was 24-4-0 with an impressive goals-against average (GAA) of 1.11 and save percentage of .953.

Shesterkin signed with the Rangers in May 2019 and made his NHL debut in Jan. 2020. In his first dozen games, Shesterkin’s record was 10-2-0 with a GAA of 2.52 and save percentage of .922. He was the next “great” Rangers goaltender following Lundqvist. Shesterkin would go on to win a Vezina Trophy for best NHL goaltender in 2021-22 and has played in two NHL All-Star Games (2023 and 2024).
