During the 2023-24 season, his production took a small dive, as he finished the year with 47 points in 76 games. Had he not gotten suspended, he would’ve played the entire season.

Perron brings that nasty edge to his game and is a pest to play against. He is good at creating chaos at the front of the net and will give you 20 goals. In 1,131 games, he has scored 310 goals and 768 points. Perron is a good veteran presence and ensures depth in the lineup.

What this Means for the Team

The Perron contract makes sense for the team. He is a guy that can play up and down the lineup and be a contributor. For a team that is looking to contend for a championship, adding a player like Perron is a huge boost. Perron brings that winning pedigree and does know what it takes to win. Also, he can be a mentor for the younger guys, which is something that was beneficial to a younger Red Wings team.

For Perron, he gets a fair deal and is on a team that believes they can contend. This is a great deal for both sides and should make for a great 2024-25 season.

Main Photo: Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran forward and former Stanley Cup Champion has a new contract.
