A National Hockey League journeyman finally has a stable home in the league with the Islanders after bouncing around with multiple teams throughout his career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Isles?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#Isles<\/a> News: President\/General Manager Lou Lamoriello announced today that the team has signed Anthony Duclair to a four-year contract.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 New York Islanders (@NYIslanders) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYIslanders\/status\/1807833284849672320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">July 1, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anthony Duclair Inks Contract With New York Islanders<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Canadian native played the best hockey of his NHL career in his short stint with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/lightning\/\" target=\"_self\">Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> last season. Now he&#8217;s on Long Island for the next four seasons. Before his tenure with the Bolts, Duclair <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/sharks\/\" target=\"_self\">San<\/a><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Jose Sharks.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Duclair was\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">out<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0for most of the 2022-23 season\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">injured. A<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">nd a stacked <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/panthers\/\" target=\"_self\">Florida Panthers<\/a> roster could no longer afford his services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With minimal help in San Jose, Duclair potted\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points in<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a056 games (o.48 points per game played). As a member of the Lightning, he scored\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a017 games (0.88 points per game played). Duclair brought an element of speed to the Lightning top six along with dominant 5v5 possession metrics via\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.naturalstattrick.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">NaturalStatTrick<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. What does he bring to the squad for next season?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">How Duclair Impacts the Islanders Next Season<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Duclair fit instantly for the Lightning since his first game with the club. His services only cost Julien BriseBois and the franchise a third-round pick and defensive prospect, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/t\/thompja01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-05-24_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jack Thompson<\/a>. Duclair was always a solid player over his 563-game career in the NHL. He notched 146 goals and 157 assists for 303 points. With this deal awarded to Duclair, he should help provide the Islanders with some added scoring.
