The Capitals are 5-4-1 in the last 10 games as they chase a Stanley Cup Playoff spot. Dylan Strome<\/a> leads the team in goals with 22 while John Carlson<\/a> is tops in assists with 33.<\/p>\n Casey DeSmith<\/a> is the expected starter with Thatcher Demko<\/a> out of the lineup for the next couple of weeks. The Canucks hold a three-point lead for first in the West ahead of a trio of Central Division-leading teams.<\/p>\n Missing Demko hurts, but DeSmith is a capable goalie with a solid offence in front of him.<\/p>\n Prediction: Canucks win 3-2.<\/em><\/p>\n TV:<\/strong> Altitude; CBC; Sportsnet; ESPN+<\/p>\n Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> squaring off with the Edmonton Oilers.<\/a> Colorado is expected to go with Alexandar Georgiev<\/a> in between the pipes for this game. The Avalanche have won five straight games and are 7-2-1 in the last 10 games. Colorado has been great in the last few games in winning in different ways. The offence can be explosive, but the defence has been strong as well.<\/p>\n Stuart Skinner<\/a> is the confirmed starter for the Oilers, who are also 7-2-1 in the last 10 games. Edmonton’s defence has gotten back to basics and played well during this recent wining run. Zach Hyman<\/a> is first in goals with 46 while Connor McDavid<\/a> has another 100-point season thanks to his 81 assists. Nashville has points in the last 13 games and are 8-0-2 in the last 10 games. Juuse Saros<\/a><\/span> is the projected starter for the Predators. Filip Forsberg<\/a> leads the team in goals with 34 while Roman Josi<\/a> is tops in assists with 50. Nashville has a 17-9-1 record in games it scores one or more power-play goals.<\/p>\n Philipp Grubauer<\/a> is the likely starter for the Kraken, who are losers of three straight games. Seattle is falling out of the playoff race and would need a win to show some sort of life.
