With the large amount of games on tonight\u2019s NHL schedule, it might be hard to know where to start. We at the Last Word on Hockey have helped narrow your focus to our best bets. This round of NHL Predictions will help condense the slate into three best bets and one prop bet of the night.<\/em><\/p>\n

NHL Predictions<\/h2>\n

Calgary Flames vs Colorado Avalanche<\/h3>\n

Head-to-Head: Flames 0-0 Avalanche<\/h4>\n

TV:<\/strong> Altitude; CBC; ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our first game of NHL predictions has the Calgary Flames<\/a> taking on the Colorado Avalanche<\/a>. The Flames have won three of its last five, but need a bit more consistency. Calgary’s offence has been better as of late with at least four goals in four of the last five games. Daniel Vladar<\/a> is the likely starter, but always check social media<\/a> before locking in a fantasy goalie. Blake Coleman<\/a> leads the way with six goals for Calgary.<\/p>\n

The Colorado Avalanche’s projected starter is Ivan Prosvetov<\/a><\/span>. Colorado has won four of its last five games, but they’ll have to face today’s game without a key defenceman. Samuel Girard<\/a> has gone into the NHLPA’s Player Assistance Program and won’t be with the team. The Avs are third in goals scored and a lot of that offence has to do with Cale Makar<\/a>. He has 24 assists already for Colorado and is the engine that gets the team going.<\/p>\n

The Avalanche will have to make some adjustments on the backend, but they’ll find a way with their offensive game.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Avalanche win 5-3.<\/em><\/p>\n

Vancouver Canucks vs San Jose Sharks<\/h3>\n

Head-to-Head: Canucks 2-0 Sharks<\/h4>\n

TV:<\/strong> NBC Sports California; CBC; ESPN+<\/p>\n

The Vancouver Canucks<\/a> are looking for their third win over the season over the San Jose Sharks<\/a>. Vancouver has outscored San Jose 13-2 in the previous two games. J.T. Miller<\/a> already has 13 goals this season for Vancouver while Quinn Hughes<\/a> has 24 assists. The Canucks are tops in goals scored and seventh in goals allowed. Casey DeSmith<\/a><\/span> is the likely starter in goal for the Canucks.<\/p>\n

Kaapo Kahkonen<\/a><\/span> will get the call in goal for the Sharks. He’s looking to shake off his last game where he got pulled against the Seattle Kraken<\/a>. The Sharks did get a point against the Montreal Canadiens last time out. However, the team has lost four of its last five games. Mike Hoffman<\/a> leads the team in goals with five so far this campaign.<\/p>\n

Vancouver needs this as a get-right game and it will get right with the win.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Canucks win 5-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Arizona Coyotes vs Vegas Golden Knights<\/h3>\n

Head-to-Head: Coyotes 0-0 Golden Knights<\/p>\n

TV: Scripps Arizona; Scripps Vegas: ESPN+<\/p>\n

Our last game of NHL predictions has the Arizona Coyotes<\/a> battling the Vegas Golden Knights.<\/a> Arizona comes in with losses in four of its last five. Connor Ingram<\/a> will get the start for the Coyotes while Lawson Crouse<\/a> is tops in goals with nine.<\/p>\n

Vegas is likely to go with Logan Thompson<\/a> in between the pipes. The Golden Knights have lost three of their last five games, but did get a 2-1 overtime win over the Dallas Stars.<\/a> William Karlsson<\/a> is the team’s leading goal-scorer with nine. Vegas is fourth in goals allowed this season.<\/p>\n

The win over the Stars was huge and may be a springboard into getting things fixed after some struggles in recent games.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Golden Knights in 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n

Prop Bet of the Night<\/h3>\n

We’ll go back to the Calgary and Colorado game for our prop bet of the evening. We love the role that Makar has been on and we’ll go over on 1.5 points if anyone is giving that type of action.<\/p>\n
