It was reported in the post-practice press conference that the injury to Maroon didn&#8217;t look serious.<\/p>\n<p>So far this season,\u00a0Maroon has scored five goals and 14\u00a0assists for 19 points to go along with 52 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 52 percent Corsi-For and a relative Corsi of +1.1.<\/p>\n<p>Over his eight-year NHL career, Maroon has played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/ducks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anaheim\u00a0Ducks<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/oilers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/devils\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Jersey Devils<\/a>, and St. Louis Blues. He has 83 goals and 114 assists for 197 career points in 435 career games. He was originally drafted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> in the sixth round, 161st overall in the 2007 NHL Draft.<\/p>\n<h2>What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/maroopa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pat Maroon<\/a>&#8216;s absence\u00a0from the Blues line-up would have been a big loss for them as they are already without\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/t\/tarasvl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vladimir Tarasenko<\/a><\/strong>. Maroon has been finding his groove over the last month. Since February\u00a012th, Maroon has recorded five points and his Corsi-For rating is 54.25 percent. These numbers are fifth best among Blues forwards over this time. The St. Louis native provides a physical presence\u00a0on the second line for the Blues and has been getting time on the Blues second power-play unit. Maroon&#8217;s scoring numbers have been down compared to the prior seasons which is due to playing\u00a0in more of a depth role this season.<\/p>\n<p>Forward <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/perroda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Perron<\/a><\/strong> who has been out since mid-January took Marron&#8217;s spot on the second line once Marron left practice. Perron has recorded 17 goals and 18 assists in 45 games so far this season.
