The Boston Bruins<\/a> will have to undergo few weeks without veteran defenceman Kevan Miller<\/a><\/strong>. Miller suffered an upper-body injury in a game against the\u00a0St. Louis Blues<\/a>\u00a0just two days before the Trade Deadline. He has been missing from the practice since the beginning of the past week. His injury was initially believed to be day-to-day but worsened as he will now be out week-to-week.<\/p>\n

Zdeno Chara is OK. Sean Kuraly might play Thursday. Kevan Miller is week to week.<\/p>\n

Kevan Miller Out\u00a0For Weeks For The Bruins<\/h1>\n

Miller suffered an upper-body injury 10 days ago. Head coach Bruce Cassidy<\/a><\/strong> expected Miller to miss games against the San Jose Sharks<\/a> and the Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> last week. After missing three straight games, Miller underwent an MRI, which didn’t\u00a0bring good news. Miller is now week-to-week with his upper-body issue.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0other injury news for the Bruins, forward Sean Kuraly<\/a><\/strong> was skating back with the main group after he went through concussion protocol this past weekend. Kuraly suffered a hard hit from Braydon Coburn<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of the Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> last Thursday. The versatile forward should return back to action on Thursday, when the Bruins host the Florida Panthers<\/a> at the TD Garden.<\/p>\n

Bruins Will Miss Miller Despite Defensive Depth<\/h2>\n

The Bruins have plenty of depth on their defence. Kevan Miller was playing on the third defensive pair alongside Matt Grzelcyk<\/a><\/strong>. He was replaced by John Moore<\/a><\/strong>, who signed with Boston last summer<\/a>. Miller\u00b4s season has been hampered by the injury bug so far. He was limited to playing in just 36 games so far.<\/p>\n

Kevan Miller has already missed more than a month because of a throat injury during the current campaign. In his 36 games skated, the 31-year-old defenceman collected six assists. Miller is signed through the 2019-2020 season with a salary cap hit of\u00a0$2.5 million per year. The Bruins will certainly miss Miller, as they have to play with four left-handed defencemen now.<\/p>\n
