We look at the potential deals that have been speculated on in the media. Today\u2019s rumours centre around the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Rangers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/maple-leafs\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/predators\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nashville Predators<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All NHL trade rumours are taken from the original source and are subject to change.<\/p>\n<h1>NHL Trade Rumours<\/h1>\n<h2>New York Rangers<\/h2>\n<p><em>Rumour: Larry Brooks of the New York Post reports that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/shattke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Shattenkirk<\/a>\u2019<\/strong>s recent return to form may <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/01\/16\/kevin-shattenkirks-revival-could-hasten-his-rangers-exit\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">garner some interest from teams<\/a>. However, Shattenkirk has struggled until recently. Getting his $6.65 million cap hit off the books would be huge for a rebuilding club.<\/p>\n<p>He does have a modified no-trade clause of 10 teams that are off limits. Shattenkirk is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win no matter what uniform he dons.<\/p>\n<h2>Toronto Maple Leafs<\/h2>\n<p><em>Rumour: \u00a0TSN\u2019s Darren Dreger was on TSN 1050 Toronto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/countdown-to-tradecentre-what-would-it-take-for-leafs-to-add-a-defenceman-1.1243464\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">talking about the trade market<\/a>. Dreger said<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/muzzija01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Muzzin<\/a> <\/strong>keeps popping up and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/kings\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles Kings<\/a> want a first-rounder a prospect.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This was also speculated on Saturday night at Hockey Night in Canada.<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pietral01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Pietrangelo<\/a><\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blues\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> is a name that comes up a lot for the Leafs as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gudasra01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Radko Gudas<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/MapleLeafs?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#MapleLeafs<\/a> are looking to add to their blue line and might be willing to pay a premium price to do it.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hKpgN4nx54\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/hKpgN4nx54<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sportsnet (@Sportsnet) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sportsnet\/status\/1086838868907884544?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">January 20, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Analysis: The Maple Leafs are hesitant to give up assets in order to get a defender. General manager Kyle Dubas and the rest of the management group would need convincing to give up one of their young forwards. However, Toronto does need help on its blueline. Dubas is going to have to make a hard choice down the road if they want to go for it and compete with a team like the Tampa Bay Lightning.<\/p>\n<h2>Nashville Predators<\/h2>\n<p><em>Rumours: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brooksbratten\/status\/1085957080958291968\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Multiple Predators news sources<\/a> have indicated that general manager David Poile is open to making a trade. He wants to wait to see a healthy lineup before making a move. Poile is very pragmatic but knows how to make a big deal. The name <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/simmowa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wayne Simmonds<\/a> <\/strong>keeps popping up thanks to his physical nature.<\/p>\n<p>Another piece of news is prospect <strong>Dante Fabbro<\/strong> may join the club after his season at Boston University is over.
